More about
The Trail Running Virtual Film Festival
Join a virtual gathering of the trail running community from across the globe for a night of films, revelry, and community building. Grab a beverage, connect online, and get ready for some serious inspiration, tons of prizes, and a fostering of the trail running spirit. For years the Trail Running Film Festival has brought our sport’s most relevant trail stories and visual artistry to theaters across the country and now once a month this summer they’re live-streaming into our living rooms!
This month the festival digging deep into the archives of trail running history to bring you a sweeping view of some of the most iconic trail stories captured on film. The main feature is “Desperate Dreams” from the 1983 Western States, which still boasts the closest top two men’s finish in the 39-year history of the race. Arguably, it is one of the best races ever at WS, and lucky for us it was filmed! This classic is one for the ages. Rounding out the night will be an incredible short film from 1979 about blind trail runner Harry Cordellos competing in one of the toughest trail races in the country, The Dipsea, and a few modern and instant classics illustrating both the timeless elements of our sport and how it’s continually evolving.
