APPRENTICE CLINICS  (for new officials)
This is a "hands-on" course which is 6 hours in length and designed for a brand new official or someone who feels they need a little extra education on the basics.  We focus on High School rules. Previously certified officials who have never attended the hands-on version of the clinic are encouraged to attend.

Students will work with the actual tools of the trade–measuring tapes, marking canes, flags, cones, scoresheets, crossbars and stopwatches. The majority of the exercises utilize scaled mock-ups of throwing circles, long jump, high jump, track markings and relay zones. Topics covered include: safety, philosophy of officiating, field events (marking, measuring, recording, fouls, flight coordinating) and track events (starting lines, break line, violations, umpiring and relays).

Due to time constraints, we do not teach: Referee, Starter, Race Walk, Cross Country or setting up the Pole Vault.

WIAA clock hours are available.

This is the fourth year we are offering the hands-on course. It has received tremendous reviews by past attendees. The USATF National Officials Committee is adopting our program as the National clinic.
