Caroline Alcorta Claims Silver at USATF 50 km Trail Championships

Results

Seattle’s Caroline Alcorta delivered a standout performance on Saturday, August 16, at the USATF 50 km Trail Championships, hosted by the Tamalpa Headlands 50K in Mill Valley, California.

Competing against a deep field of 87 runners, Alcorta, 29, raced to a runner-up finish in the women’s division. She crossed the rugged and scenic course in 4 hours, 6 minutes, 24 seconds, earning the silver medal and national runner-up honors. The race was won by Tayler Tuttle of Colorado in 4:03:05.

Alcorta was the lone representative from USATF Pacific Northwest, but she made her mark with a performance that highlighted both strength and endurance on one of the country’s most challenging ultra-distance trail courses.

Her finish continues a strong tradition of Pacific Northwest athletes excelling on the national stage in trail and ultra-distance competitions.
