Jacquet-Acea Sets American Record at USATF Masters Championships in North Carolinia
Results
The
2023 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships
culminated on Sunday (23-July) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Eleven (11) members of USATF Pacific Northwest competed in 24 events during the four-day competition that started on Thursday.
Pacific Northwest member athletes won four national titles and earned another nine visits to the awards podium for finishing in the top three in their event.
The highlight of the meet for the local athletes was the American record set by
Russell Jacquet-Acea
in men's 70-74 300m Hurdles. His time of 49.86 broke the existing record of 50.22 set in 2000 by James Stookey. In addition to his win in the 300m Hurdles Jacquet-Acea also finished second in the 80m Hurdles, Long Jump, and Pentathlon and was fourth in the Pole Vault.
