This is a "hands-on" course which is 6 hours in length and designed for a brand new official or someone who feels they need a little extra education on the basics.  We focus on High School rules. Students will work with the actual tools of the trade–measuring tapes, marking canes, flags, cones, scoresheets, crossbars and stopwatches. The majority of the exercises utilize scaled mock-ups  of throwing circles, high jump bar, pole vault standards, starting lines and relay zones. Topics covered include: safety, philosophy of officiating, field events (marking, measuring, recording, fouls, flight coordinating) and track events (umpiring, hand-timing and relays).  WIAA clock hours are available.
This is the third year we are offering the hands-on course. It has received tremendous reviews by past attendees.
